Character Portraits
I love creating intricate and dramatic images. “Characters” is my line of portrait photography that is a bit fanciful, intriguing, and mysterious. The process is more of a journey from the concept to the final image. It is kind of like Star Trek meets Cirque de Soliel. These sessions are my play time.
Is there a “Character” in you?
“Garden Nymph” scored a rare perfect 100 at Professional Photographers of Iowa 2010 Print Judging. It also received the Fuji Award, a Judge’s Choice award, and first place for portraits of women. At the largest and most prestigious international photography competition, Professional Photographers of America (PPA) this image was accepted into the PPA Loan Collection. It is now part of a traveling exhibit and published in the PPA Loan Collection book. The model is Kelsey Smart.
“Crystalized” also received a rare perfect 100 at Professional Photographers of Iowa 2010 Print Judging. It also won a Judge’s Choice award and second place in portraits of women (because “Garden Nymph” already had first place). The model is Emily Hamilton.
