Working with Rabbits
Posted by: | CommentsFun Photo Friday
Hard to believe that this is the first pet rabbit I have photographed with a high school senior. I have worked with a lot of animals and as common as rabbits are, this is my first one with a senior. You probably can’t tell that her vintage coat is a rabbit too! I expected a rabbit to be as difficult as a cat but really this one was quite calm and relaxed.

This little foal is around 36 hours old. It was born at the facility I keep one of my horses at. I have been checking on this mare for weeks now, wanting to see the foal as new as possible. I made sure I had a camera in the car and I peeked at her everyday. I have not ever gotten to see a foal this young in person.
I had to shoot through the bars of the stall since the Momma is protective and she kept blocking my view. But eventually I got to see the entire foal. Cute yuh?
A Boy and His Dog

Q, the studio mascot, is actually my dog who has been coming to the studio since he was a pup. Q knows his “job” graciously entertaining children, posing, and hanging out. This young man does not have a dog…yet. It was so sweet watching them interact. T will make some dog happy someday as he was very good with Q. Counting strawberries and discussing chocolate chip cookies kept them busy and made me hungry.

Gypsy was ready for morning rations and not really in the mood for a photo session. Peaking through the tree branches made for nice framing.
Her name is Rio

If you are a Duran Duran fan from the 80′s you know the rest of the song. Ever since a friend of mine sung that, it has been stuck in my head. Anyway…Rio is the barn name for my new seven year old, sorrel, quarter horse. Her name is Thuroly Modern Millie but I could not do Millie. She is pretty special and I hope she and Gypsy (the 18 year old quarter horse I have had a year now) get along well.
PS-I did not do a typo on Thuroly. That is her registered spelling!

A friend’s quarter horse with the most gorgeous mane will make a future art print.
